Heading up the trail to our favourite dock on Clear Lake. I'm not sure what happened to Ma but my hair still looks good.
One more swim in Clear Lake, a stop for food, gas, and a quick shop in Onanole meant the timing was just right for Ma to connect with cousins in Brandon.
Instead of Highway 16 East we went straight on Highway 10 and 1 1/2 hours later we were with family.
♡Ma, Cathy, Bea, Kim. Sylvia, Yvonne♡
Bea is Ma's cousin who looks amazing and is doing great at 91.
Yvonne, Cathy, and Kim are Ma's second cousins, Bea's daughters and Sylvia is Bea's daughter inlaw married to Butch Bea's son. Ma used to visit her cousins in Brandon when she was a kid.
I really liked meeting all of them too!
* Thanks to Facebook for this serendipitous connection!
The next day Ma managed to find a nice bike trail for us to ride before she met up with another second cousin Susan who used to live in Virden but is now in Brandon.
Ma said that they had a great visit and got talking so much she forgot to get a photo! Boy is she slipping into holiday mode! Maybe I'll get to meet Susan on our way back and remember a photo.
Ma drove by the houses of her family that she used to visit on Rosser Avenue. She said it brought back so many fond memories.
We slept in MAWD just outside of Brandon. There weren't a lot of trees but there were a lot of gopher holes! Ma didn't like it much when I made one of the holes bigger and stuck my head into it right up to my shoulders. I still didn't find the little guy.
Ma enjoyed the sunset.
I think a few more memories were made in Manitoba!
