Skirting through Alberta

Writer: Lynda ChyzykLynda Chyzyk

Driving Highway 16 beteeen Hinton and Enwhistle, which was closed a few days previously due to wild fire, we saw the decimation and charred remains of trees right along the highway. The fire had jumped and burned both sides leaving an eerie site. While there was still a liitle smoke in the air, we were lucky to pass through.

Finding Wabamun (mirror in Cree) was great. The camping area wasn't busy at all and the day use beach is beautiful.

A bit of time for fun before sunset

Ma wanted to go get MAWD set up, so I jumped in the lake again. Yippee!

Between the squirrels and the gophers I'm pretty busy and never know which way to look. They're everywhere!

Wierd as usual! Ma was interested in the bark of the trees! It doesn't even move!

The beach was crowded so Ma took me to find somewhere else to swim.

Found it!!

Ma's making some notes. I'm still watching the critters.

Soon we'll be skirting through Alberta once again.

You must have some serious connections in higher places. The weather has been incredible every day. Lots of spectacular nature, Canada in Spring. Unlike no other 💚🙏🇨🇦
