The call of the mountain

I am on my journey across Canada so I am unable to attend the Celebration of Sarahs life in Sechelt B.C. today June 21, 2023. My heart and thoughts are with those who will be together to celebrate, remember, and share the many stories of Sarahs too short but incredibly amazing life. Her life was filled with love, family, friends, adventure, and the call of the mountains.

This is for you my friend Sarah! You were with me in more than spirit on this magical day on the mountain.

Unlike Sarah I took the tram to the top and only hiked the final 1.4km to the Whistlers Mountain Summit

This views were stunning and skies clear the entire time I was up on the mountain

Sarah has made it possible with her vision and production of SideStix for myself and so many others to do things that were super difficult or nearly impossible.

While we competed against each other skiing, we played together, laughed together, cried together, danced together, drummed together, swam together, snowshoed together, raced together on the USAble relay team, and shared so many more memorable times together!

Sarah loved to say that I was her 'oldest' Canadian friend. She really meant 'longest' but it always made us laugh!!

Sarah my friend, you are here with me on my journey across Canada. You have taught me so much about courage, strength and resilience. Always appreciating and understanding those around us. You have helped to make me who I am today! I will miss you but never ever forget you!
