The Marathon of Hope

With losing my leg to cancer November 1978, I have always felt a very strong and close connection to Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope.

Terry made such an incredible and memorable impact on all Canadians and people across the globe.

He will never be forgotten.

On my way across Canada, although I had no plans or destinations in mind, I knew I would stop at Terry's Monuments.

I had no idea that the emotions I would feel when I was there, would be so raw.

As I have said before, he is a Legend and my Hero.

I cannot imagine running across Canada, let alone on one leg.

Each day we zoom around so busy, caught up in our own routines. We don't always feel satisfied, nor even happy, and other times with we feel full, so satisfied, so happy, so much positive energy and yet we don't always take time for friends and family.

Today I learned of another dear friend who has been diagnosed with cancer.

WE can't yet seem to beat it.

Be kind and respectful. Enjoy and learn from every moment.

Life is for us to live and it is short!!

So embrace it and live it!

I was very grateful to have 2 very close friends share these experiences with me. Jane in St. Johns and Sibylle on my second stop in Thunder Bay.

Thank you both for joining me.

New friends and neighbours Sue & Tim took me to the monument in Ottawa on Canada Day. Thank you.

And of course my faithful sidekick Chessa ♥︎ ♡♡♡♥︎
